Carol A. Mandel is Dean Emerita, New York University Libraries. In her role as a CLIR Presidential Fellow she is investigating issues and strategies related to expanded collecting and preservation of digital-only content. Her goal is to stimulate wide engagement and shared problem solving to address the digital disruption of our traditions of preserving knowledge and cultural memory. Carol has been president of DLF (when it was a separate organization) and of ARL and served on a variety of professional boards and advisory groups, including DPN, HathiTrust, Ithaka, CLIR, OCLC's Research Library Partnership and LC"s NDIIPP.
